Before becoming an author\, she graduated from Northwestern School of Law and worked as a litigator in Chicago. Originally from Moscow\, she was raised in the US and now lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and two daughters\, and writes in a variety of genres\, including fantasy\, gothic suspense\, mystery\, and historical.
