Michael O’Donnell is the bestselling author of the novels Concert Black and Above the Fire. In 2023, Apple Books named him a debut writer to watch. His work also appears in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist, among other publications. A longtime member of the National Book Critics Circle, he practiced law in government and the private sector for over twenty years after clerking for a federal judge. He lives with his family in Park Ridge.
