Mary Schmich is a Chicago journalist who wrote for the Chicago Tribune for 36 years. She won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for commentary. One of her columns, loosely called Wear Sunscreen, was turned into a popular song by Baz Luhrmann. Her columns have been collected in a book called Even the Terrible Things Seem Beautiful to Me Now. She is currently collaborating on a podcast series based on the work of Studs Terkel.
