Crystal S. Rudds is an assistant professor of African American literature and culture at the University of Utah, previously tenured at Malcolm X College. She served as assistant editor for the oral history High Rise Stories: Voices from Chicago Public Housing (2013) and is currently writing a book that explores representations of public housing in film, literature, photography, and qualitative interviews with Black men. An MFA from Indiana University, she also publishes creative work that has appeared in Obsidian, NightBallet Press, After Hours Press, Midnight & Indigo, Big Shoulders Books, and dancing girl press (forthcoming).
