Cristina Mittermeier believes stunning visual storytelling drives critical action to protect our ocean and planet. In 2005, she founded the International League of Conservation Photographers and coined “conservation photography.” In 2014, she co-founded SeaLegacy, a leading ocean conservation organization. Mittermeier is a Sony Artisan of Imagery, collaborates with Rolex’s Perpetual Planet initiative, and was named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2018. She has won numerous awards, including the Smithsonian Conservation Photographer of the Year and the Sylvia Earle Medal. She was named one of the 100 Latinos Most Committed to Climate Action and has been named one of the World’s Top 50 Keynote Speakers.
