Interdisciplinary artist avery r. young [he, him, his] is an American Laureate Fellow and a co-director of The Floating Museum. He is a recipient of the Walder Foundation’s Platform Award, as well as a 3Arts and Meier Foundation awardee. A Cave Canem alum, his visual art, sound pieces and written works have been featured in numerous publications, festivals and exhibitions. His full length recording tubman. is the soundtrack to his debut book, neckbone: visual verses. He’s the librettist/composer for the new American opera safronia, and the playwright/composer of the score to his play, maim de looter(s).
