Pemon Rami is an accomplished author and international film producer, and a member of the Illinois Arts Council board. He served as a Professor at Loyola University and previously held the position of Director of Educational and Public Programs at the DuSable Museum. Among his notable works, Pemon produced the feature film Of Boys and Men, starring Angela Bassett and Robert Townsend, and 93 Days, starring Danny Glover, earning him a nomination for an African Academy Award. His new film A Boy Named Bobby, will be released in 2025. Pemon published his memoir, When Blackness Was Golden in 2022.
