Jim Warren, former managing editor and Washington bureau chief for the Chicago Tribune, is the Chicago-based executive editor of NewsGuard, which has does non-ideological assessments of more than 10,000 news and information sites, podcasts, and tv news shows in the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia, and whose partners include Microsoft, the World Health Organization, major ad agencies, and 800 public libraries. He was also Washington bureau chief of the New York Daily News, co-founder of a now defunct nonprofit, the Chicago News Cooperative, publisher of The Chicago Reader, and media analyst for the Poynter Institute. He has been a political analyst for MSNBC, CNN, and Fox, and is a political analyst for WGN-TV. He has been a columnist for The New York Times, The Atlantic, and Vanity Fair.
