Laura S. Washington is a Chicago Tribune contributing columnist and political analyst for ABC 7-Chicago. She has been a Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics and as the Ida B. Wells-Barnett University Professor at DePaul University, editor and publisher of The Chicago Reporter, and deputy press secretary to Chicago Mayor Harold Washington. Her award-winning work has been widely featured in the national media, including Time Magazine, Associated Press, The New York Times, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, PBS News Hour and the BBC. Washington is a frequent lecturer and moderator for local and national audiences.
