Dan “Sully” Sullivan is a Chicago-born poet residing in Bloomington, IN. Sully’s new book, O Body (Haymarket Books 2024), considers the male body—its momentum and privilege, but also its softness and vulnerability. With appearances on HBO Def Poetry, WGN, and NPR, Sully is a three-time Chicago Slam Champion, recipient of the Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic Award, Earl S Ho Award for Excellence in Teaching Creative Writing and an IU Writer in South Asia Recipient. He is co-editor of Respect the Mic: Celebrating 20 Years of Poetry from a Chicagoland High School (Penguin) and author of The Blue Line Home (EM-Press).
