Maureen McKane leans into her past as a psychotherapist while pursuing the truth about being human. Her first book emerges from a lifelong desire to understand Black life in America. She honed her writing skills as a columnist for the Aurora (Illinois) Beacon News and a mental health blogger. Now a full time freelancer, she has launched Walters Way: A Coach, His Runners, and His Race, the biography of a hero who changed the lives of children, a Black man unseen in a predominantly white city. Unseen until now.
