Gerald Butters Jr. is a Professor of History at Aurora University and he teaches in the School of Professional Studies at Northwestern University. He is the author of five books; his latest – Censoring the City: Chicago, Morality, and the Politics of Cinema, 1895-1920 will be published by Indiana University Press in 2027. A Fulbright scholar, Butters has lectured internationally, including an address at the European Commission.
