Elizabeth Taylor, past president of the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC), serves on its board. Chair of multiple Pulitzer Prize juries, she judges many other book awards, including the J. Anthony Lukas/Lyton. Author (with Adam Cohen) of American Pharaoh: Mayor Richard J. Daley – His Battle for Chicago and the Nation. She is writing a biography set in Civil War/I Reconstruction America for W. W. Norton/Liveright. She and Cohen launched The National Book Review, an online journal of books and ideas, following years as Literary Editor for the Sunday Magazine of the Chicago Tribune, following her years as a National Correspondent for TIME magazine.
