Edward Taylor is Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs and a professor in the College of Education at the University of Washington. His work focuses on expanding educational opportunity, fostering civic engagement, and creating communities of belonging. His scholarship explores comparative education, dialogue, democracy, and leadership, and he has authored and co-authored numerous books and articles, including The Power of the River. A graduate of Gonzaga University and the University of Washington, he serves on the boards of the Seattle Foundation, Gonzaga University, and Rainier Prep. In 2024, Gonzaga awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Public Service.
