David Cerda is a playwright, actor, and co-founder of Hell in a Handbag Productions, Chicago’s premier camp and parody theater company—now celebrating 25 years. He created and stars as Dorothy in the long-running hit The Golden Girls: The Lost Episodes and was featured at the inaugural GoldenCon. He is currently appearing in Joan Crawford Goes to Hell as Joan Crawford.

In recognition of his artistic and philanthropic impact on Chicago, Cerda received a Joseph Jefferson Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame in 2016.
